Apr 17, 2018 · I recently bought a USB charging tester which goes between a wall charger and the iPad cable and was able to prove that my iPad was actually charging when plugged into a non-OEM charger even though the iPad said ‘Not Charging’. The OEM charger showed .8A but the non-OEM read .5A. The same thing happens when I plug into my computer. How come my iPad won’t charge when it is plugged into my I’m also sure that those of you that own an iPad or other larger tablet will have tried to charge it on your computer only to be frustrated by the “Not charging” message. So why won’t an iPad or similar tablet charge when it is plugged into a computer? The answer is really quite simple. iPhone/iPad losing charge while plugged in - Apple Toolbox My iPad Pro 12.9 does not keep its charge since IOS11 release. 100% to zero overnight on aeroplane mode. Took to Apple shop and they found the battery to be in full working order. Advised to install IOS11.1 to see if that helps. Didn’t help and nor has the last three releases including 11.2 installed yesterday! Use only Apple plug and wire.
